Mr. Owusu is working with the research group of Prof. Dr. Mariele Evers (Eco-Hydrology and Water Resources Management). He will be working intensively on data analysis and validation of preliminary results from his PhD research under the One Ocean Hub (OOH) project in Ghana. Mr. Owusu is happy and passionate to learn and also share his experiences on microplastic sampling and analytical methodology in the laboratory and on the field as well. In addition to the valuable support from his first supervisor, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Kofi Nyarko, who is also an alumni and International Ambassador of the University of Bonn, Mr. Owusu will also receive scientific input from Prof. Dr. Mariele Evers, Dr. Joshua Ntajal, Katharina Höreth and other experts in Bonn. He has already visited the scientific laboratory of the department and was warmly received by Dr. Simone Giertz and Mrs. Gabriele Kraus. He is optimistic that the GIUB laboratories support him in achieving his research data analysis goals.
Mr. Owusu’s research stay at the University of Bonn will strengthen the long-existing research collaborations between the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and the Department of Geography at the University of Bonn, Germany. He is looking forward to a fruitful research stay and interacting with his colleagues in Bonn.
