DART

DART (Discrete Anisotropic Radiative Transfer) is one of the most accurate and comprehensive 3D RT models that simulate remote sensing observations of natural and urban landscapes with topography and atmosphere. RSRG contributes to the DART development conducted by the CESBIO Laboratory (Toulouse, France). The DART development contributes to the progress of knowledge on the functioning of continental surfaces and their interactions with climate and humans, relying heavily on satellite Earth observations.

3DforestSIF

Understanding the solar-induced fluorescence (SIF) signal of natural, complex tree canopies from the combined use of LiDAR and spatial high-resolution optical, and hyperspectral image data with 3D radiativetransfer modeling. 3DforestSIF aims to correct airborne solar-induced fluorescence data of forests for canopy structural and illumination effects to generate information usable for the early detection of forest stress. This project is sponsored by Helmholtz Imaging funding.

Esero

The European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) in Germany is a joint project of ESA and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The Ruhr-Universität Bochum and a committed consortium of ten institutions from North Rhine-Westphalia were awarded the contract to establish the ESERO Office. The ESERO Office has the goal to inspire students for MINT topics. To this end, space topics are integrated into school lessons in an exciting and innovative way and students' skills in the subjects of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (STEM subjects) are promoted.

PhenoRob

PhenoRob  is a DFG-funded Cluster of Excellence focusing on research in robotics for plant phenotyping purposes as a cornerstone for the sustainable crop production. PhenoRob vision is to transform crop production by optimizing breeding and farming management through developing and deploying new sensing and automatic treatment technologies. PhenoRob is advancing future food production with a technology-oriented approach grounded in computer science, geodesy, robotics, plant science, soil science, economics, and environmental science.
