Benefits of an exchange program

Timing for studying abroad and standard period of study
- You should ideally be looking to study abroad in the fifth and/or sixth semester of your bachelor’s program. Master’s students are advised to pick their third program-related semester.

With its Global Exchange Program (GEP, formerly “Direct Exchange”), the University of Bonn offers exchange placements at a total of 38 partner universities all over the world.

Students can also arrange their own studies abroad. Various funding options are available for this in addition to the University of Bonn’s PROMOS program.
