Together with the city of Bonn as a United Nations’ Making Cities Resilient 2030 hub, and ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), the BonnWaterNetwork organized a lively debate on flood prevention and management. Participants highlighted the opportunities for cities to model flood and heavy rain scenarios and increase flood resilience through socio-political, physical, and environmental measures.
IDOS and the Bonn Water Network in cooperation with the City of Bonn organised two excursions for the participants of the GWOPA Congress
The debate focuses on water resilience as a comprehensive approach including infrastructure, governance and the environment.
In this Integrity Talk, we will discuss what the WEFE Nexus approach means and how to make it work, with integrity. We will look at the inherent risks of complex cross-sector initiatives where competing interests, unequal power dynamics, and untested governance structures come together. We will then focus on how integrity builds strong foundations for collaboration for water resilience.
