Here are her thoughts:
Above all, I expected good and intensive training of my English language skills, interesting insights into the workings and structure of a real "elite" university in the UK, lots of fresh sea air and a good group experience with the university colleagues travelling with me. This turned into much more: intensive presentation training in English, informative and mutually enriching meetings with open-minded and friendly university staff, and extensive exposure to British culture, including swimming in one of the local stone pools on the coast, where the sea warms up so pleasantly.
I am not the only one in our group who found our trip very valuable - both for getting to know our own university structure even better (we came together here from many different departments), for a good and informative look behind the scenes of a university that is financed almost exclusively by tuition fees and thus has a completely different focus - and of course also through the professionally accompanied language training.
Conclusion: definitely recommended for broadening one's horizons overall - ideally in combination with a few extra days of holiday to immerse oneself even more in the local and regional culture and nature.
