Dr. Angela Last von der University of Leicester ist von Juni 2024 bis November 2025 als Alexander von Humboldt-Fellow in der Arbeitsgruppe Kulturgeographie von Prof. Dr. Kathrin Höschelmann am Geographischen Institut zu Gast.

Am Nachmittag des 17. Juli 2024 veranstaltet das Geographische Institut gemeinsam mit der Fachschaft Geographie wieder ein Sommerfest zum Abschluss des Sommersemesters.

Prof. Dr. Maria Christina Fragkou hat das Geographische Institut im Rahmen eines Bonn International Fellowship, das von Prof. Dr. Jessica Budds (AG Development Geography and Environmental Governance) und Dr. Juliane Dame (AG Kulturgeographie) eingeworben wurde, besucht.

Mit 17 Aussteller*innen und knapp 100 Teilnehmer*innen war die 17. Berufs- und Praktikumsbörse wieder sehr gut besucht.

Im aktuellen Hochschulranking des Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE) und des ZEIT Studienführers wurden in diesem Jahr neun Fächer der Universität Bonn gerankt. Die Bonner Geografie erhält dabei besonders viele Spitzenbewertungen in Vergleich zu anderen Instituten.

On 16th May, the Department of Geography (GIUB) together with the Institute for Environment and Human Security (EHS) at the United Nations University held an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Joint Master's degree in Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security. The event was co-sponsored by the regional Geoverbund ABC/J network, and welcomed 80 guests from our two universities and other institutions in and around Bonn, as well as current Joint Master’s students and alumni.
