StartStudy Bonn

Our tasks

StartStudy Bonn is a cooperation between the Institute of Geography and the Initiative für Flüchtlinge Bonn e.V. After 5 successful years, our funding by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) ended in December 2021 and accordingly the StartStudy Bonn project. Nevertheless, we will continue our office hours in the AStA on a voluntary basis. The aim of the project was to increase the chances of access and success of refugees at German universities by providing important information and skills. The project is managed by Prof. Dr. Nadine Marquardt and Dr. Sarah Klosterkamp. The events are conducted by the student assistants Elyas Alyas, Fatima Mahmood and Karline Faul.

Guide "The way to university"

This orientation guide provides all the important information for refugees who want to study in Germany. From the basic question of the right educational path, to the admission requirements and qualification options, to the application and financing of studies, prospective students will find a comprehensive guide here for their path to higher education. The guide also points to important advice centers in Bonn and the surrounding area and includes a compact checklist for quick orientation.
