The Department of Geography at the University of Bonn and the Institute of Environmental and Human Security at the United Nations University in Bonn invite applications for the October 2025 intake of the MSc Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security.
The programme explores the intricate relationships between environmental management, risk and hazards, and human development, in the context of global challenges. With 24 places, the programme is taught in English and has a highly international student body. Graduates are well placed for careers in international cooperation, academic and policy research, disaster response and humanitarian aid, environmental and sustainability policy in international organisations, government agencies, research institutions and the private sector.
The programme is tuition free, and applicants are eligible for EPOS scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which provide full financial support for students (with at least two years of relevant professional experience) from selected countries in the Global South.
The deadline for applications is 15 December 2024.
